Investing in a website – smart, affordable and forever
Why invest in a website? Because it's the place where people find you, day and night, without you having to do anything. A good website lasts for years, look at the very first website ever, made in 1991. It's still online, pure HTML, without maintenance ( info.cern.ch ). You also sometimes see older years like 1986 or 1987, for example itcorp.com or tic.com . These refer to the year the domain was registered, not to the website itself. At that time, the World Wide Web (HTML, hyperlinks) didn't exist yet; domains were used for other internet services like email or FTP. Only later did websites appear on those domains. The fact that they still exist is a rare proof of continuity on the internet.
You'll find that same solidity and one-time approach in all the options below. I work with fixed, transparent prices per building block. This way you can put together exactly what you need – and not pay for what you don't use.
No subscriptions, no monthly fees. You pay once, and the site is yours. (Hosting and domain are separate; you arrange them yourself or I can help you with that.) Check out the possibilities and feel free to contact me for a no-obligation chat.
Options
1. The simplest and most robust
A classic HTML & CSS page with some text, a few photos and your (required) company details. Think of an A4 sheet of information: what you do, possibly how, and how people can reach you. In one language. This page is so simple that it literally lasts for decades, just like those old sites from the 80s and 90s. Perfect for anyone who just wants to be found online, no nonsense.
You supply the text and photos yourself. Would you like me to write the text or find suitable photos? That's possible for an additional fee – see options 10 and 11.
2. Simple site, but multilingual
Same as option 1, but with a built‑in translation system. You can have the site translated into as many European languages as you like: French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Czech, etc. Why go multilingual? To reach customers in other language areas. The translations are done with the help of AI, it does a surprisingly good job. Of course you can have them proofread. You mainly pay for setting up the system; hence the first language is a bit more expensive than subsequent ones.
3. Extended site with multiple pages
For those with more to tell: a classic website with a few pages. Think of a homepage, an 'about us', a price list, a page about the materials you use, and a contact page with a nice contact form (with spam protection). Four to five pages, completely custom. This is the basis for a professional image.
You supply the texts and photos yourself (or I can help – see options 10 and 11).
4. Extended site, multilingual
Same as option 3, but in multiple languages. You reach not only Dutch‑speaking visitors, but also customers from other language areas, whether tourists, expats or international trade. The translation system is set up once; after that you can expand endlessly.
5. Extra: light/dark theme
You can equip your site with a switch between a light and a dark theme. Many visitors appreciate that, especially in the evening. It's a small addition that enhances user comfort. The price depends on the complexity of the site.
6. Extra colour variant
In addition to the standard colour scheme, you can have an extra theme made with a completely different colour set. Want your site in a festive version during the holidays, or just a change of scenery? This is an optional extra.
7. Site with systeme.io
systeme.io is an all‑in‑one platform with which you can build landing pages, courses, memberships, e‑books and simple shops, without worrying about updates or technical maintenance. You can even start for free. It's not a CMS, but a user‑friendly alternative for digital products. My own site Den Ingenieur runs on it. What does it cost? That depends on what exactly you want. Contact me for a custom proposal.
8. Help with domain and hosting
You need a domain name and hosting to get your site online. I'm happy to help you find a suitable provider and set everything up correctly. This is a one‑time fee for my work; the provider invoices you annually.
9. Larger projects or something special
Do you have something else in mind? A membership platform, an interactive tool, or another specific idea? Or do you want to rework an existing site, for example make it multilingual or give it a different look? Just contact me . We'll discuss your needs and I'll make a custom proposal.
10. Copywriting
Good texts are at least as important as the design. If you don't have the time or don't know what to write, I'll do it for you. I charge a fixed amount per page. You can of course provide your own – that saves costs.
11. Finding suitable photos
Photos make a site attractive. You don't have your own images? I'll find suitable, royalty‑free photos for your theme. This is charged per hour.
12. Logo design
A good logo is the face of your company. Don't have one yet? I'll design one for you. The price depends on complexity; expect a guideline price from €150. We'll discuss your needs.
